Are import duties or customs fees charged at checkout?

No. Celtic WebMerchant does not charge import duties or customs fees during checkout in the webshop.

The reasons for this are:

  • Company location: Celtic WebMerchant is based in the Netherlands. The Netherlands is part of the European Union (EU).
  • Orders within the EU: If you order from a country within the EU, you never pay import duties. You only pay the price including VAT as shown in the webshop.
  • Orders outside the EU: If you order from a country outside the EU (such as the United States, Norway, or Switzerland), you will pay any extra fees later. Customs and the carrier in your own country will calculate these costs during shipping.

What fees do you pay to customs outside the EU?
If you live outside the EU, you will pay the following fees upon delivery:

  • Local VAT: The tax charged by your own country.
  • Import duties: Taxes for bringing products into your country.
  • Administration fees: A fee charged by the carrier for handling customs paperwork.

Exception for the United Kingdom:

  • Under £135: You pay UK VAT directly to us during checkout.
  • Over £135: You do not pay VAT to us. You pay VAT and import duties to UK customs when your package arrives.

It is the customer's responsibility to check with their own customs office in advance to find out what rules and fees apply.
