Wat moet ik doen als mijn Epic Armoury (RFB) LARP-bow splinters?

It may happen that an Epic Armoury LARP bow (such as the Ready For Battle / RFB models) shows loose fibers or splinters. This is due to the artisanal construction and is a known product characteristic. It generally does not harm the functionality of the bow, provided you handle it correctly beforehand.

Below you will read how to safely inspect and maintain the bow:

  • Handmade product: These bows are handmade from wood and fiberglass. Therefore, it is completely normal for a number of loose wood or fiberglass strands to be visible upon delivery or over time.

  • Careful removal: Do you see loose fibers or splinters? Always remove them carefully before use. Just like any regular splinter, they can be painful if left in your hand, so cleaning and removing them is important for your own comfort and safety.

  • Inspection before use: Make it a habit to briefly clean and inspect the bow for loose fibers before each event or use.

  • Loose strands on the string: The included bowstring is also handmade and may sometimes contain a loose thread. You can carefully remove these strands and seal the end very briefly with a controlled flame (such as a lighter). Be careful not to damage or burn through the string itself.

Finding a splinter or loose fiber does not mean the bow is broken. With a little basic maintenance, the bow is completely safe and ready for use on the field!
