What happens if I start a payment but close the page?
The result depends on the exact moment the connection was lost. Don't worry, in most cases this is easy to check.
Scenario 1: You closed the page before completing the payment
In this case, the transaction is not completed:
- The order is not placed.
- No money has been deducted from your account.
- Your shopping cart is saved, so you can start again immediately.
Scenario 2: You closed the page after completing the payment
If you had already confirmed the payment with your bank, but the Celtic WebMerchant website closed before you returned to the confirmation page:
- The payment is likely successfully processed.
- Your order is placed in our system.
- You will receive an order confirmation by email within a few minutes.
What should you do now?
Follow these three steps to avoid duplicate orders:
- Check your email: Look in your inbox (and spam box) to see if the order confirmation has arrived.
- Check your bank account: See if the amount has been deducted.
- Wait a moment: It can sometimes take up to 15 minutes for the automatic confirmation email to arrive.
When can you reorder? If you have not received a confirmation after 15 minutes and nothing has been deducted from your account, then the order did not go through and you can safely try again.
