What should I do if Klarna does not appear as a payment option?
It’s possible that Klarna doesn’t appear as a payment method. This can have several reasons. Please check the following points:
1. Use of email address Klarna is only available if you check out with an email address. If you only enter a phone number at checkout, Klarna payment options will not be shown by Celtic WebMerchant.
2. Supported currencies You can only pay with Klarna if you check out in one of the following currencies: EUR, GBP, CHF, CZK, DKK, NOK, PLN, or SEK. If the webshop is set to a different currency, Klarna will not be available.
3. Automatic assessment by Klarna Klarna automatically decides which payment options to offer for each order. This depends on:
- Your location and the location of Celtic WebMerchant.
- Your personal order history with Klarna.
- A risk assessment that Klarna performs at checkout.
4. Type of product in your cart Some products in the Celtic WebMerchant range are not allowed to be paid for with Klarna according to the terms of Shopify Payments and Stripe. This often applies to specific product categories that are considered ‘high risk’.
5. Destination country Check if Klarna is available in your country. If you’re ordering from outside the supported regions, the option won’t appear.
What steps can you take?
If Klarna doesn’t show up as a payment option at Celtic WebMerchant, you can try the following adjustments at checkout:
- Enter an email address: Make sure you check out using an email address instead of just a phone number.
- Check the currency: Choose one of the supported currencies to check out (such as Euro or British Pound).
No influence on the decision
Please note that the final decision to offer Klarna is made by the payment provider itself. Unfortunately, Celtic WebMerchant has no influence over the automatic risk assessment or Klarna’s decisions.
