Can I pay in a different currency?

Yes! To make shopping as easy as possible for our international customers, Celtic WebMerchant offers the option to pay in your local currency. The available options depend on the country from which you place your order.

How do you change the currency?

You can easily select your preferred currency on the website. To do this, change the region using the region selector at the top right of the website.

Exchange rates and payment

When you pay in a different currency, the total amount in your chosen currency will be shown during the checkout review process. This way, you know exactly how much will be charged to your account without having to calculate the exchange rate yourself.

Although Celtic WebMerchant supports multiple currencies, the currency you ultimately pay in is strictly linked to your shipping address.

How does this work at checkout?

As soon as you enter your address during checkout, the system automatically determines which currency applies to that region:

  • Linked to location: It’s not possible to use a shipping address in one country with a currency from another region.
  • Example: You can’t pay in USD (US Dollars) with a Dutch shipping address; in that case, checkout will automatically switch to Euro.
  • No manual adjustment: This setting is built into Shopify’s secure payment system and cannot be manually changed by Celtic WebMerchant staff.
