How can you find out how much import duty you have to pay on a product?

Are you ordering from outside the European Union (for example, from the United States, Canada, or Norway)? If so, your country’s customs may charge import duties, customs fees, and administrative costs.

Who determines these fees?

Celtic WebMerchant has no control over these additional charges. The rates are set by the local government and customs authorities in the country where your package is being shipped. These costs are not included in the product prices or shipping fees on our webshop.

How can you find out what these costs will be?

If you want to know exactly what extra charges you might face, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Check your local customs website: Every country has an official website listing the rates for different product categories (such as clothing, steel, or decorations).
  2. Use an online import calculator: There are several reliable websites that can estimate the fees based on your order value and product type.
  3. Contact your shipping carrier: Major postal services (like UPS or PostNL) can often tell you the average administrative fees they charge for handling customs clearance.

Responsibility

Please note that as the importer (the customer), you are responsible for paying these charges. Refusing a package due to unexpected customs fees may result in extra return costs, which will be deducted from your refund.
