What if the pickup point is closed when I arrive?
It's very frustrating to find a closed door when you were looking forward to your new product. Fortunately, there are a few steps you can take and ways to prevent this in the future.
1. Check the current opening hours online
Sometimes the opening hours on the door differ from what is shown in your navigation app.
- Local tracking: Check the website of the local delivery service using your tracking code. They often display the most current opening hours of their partners.
- Holidays: Be aware of local or national holidays in your region; pickup points in stores often follow retail opening hours.
2. The storage period continues
It's important to know that the storage period, usually 7 days, continues even if the pickup point is closed for a day.
- Is the point closed for an extended period (for example, due to renovation or vacation)? Then contact the customer service of the delivery service immediately. They can sometimes redirect the package to another point nearby so that it doesn't unexpectedly return to Celtic WebMerchant.
3. Alternative pickup times
If you find that the opening hours of the chosen point do not fit your schedule (for example, because they close before you get off work):
- Authorize someone else: See if a friend or family member can pick up the package for you during the day.
- Parcel lockers: For a future order, you might consider choosing an unmanned parcel locker. These are often accessible 24/7, so you'll never face a closed door again.
4. What if the point is permanently closed?
In rare cases, a store closes permanently while packages are still there. The delivery service is responsible for securing the shipments in that case. They usually send the package to another support point nearby. Keep a close eye on your tracking link for an update on the new location.
