What if your package is too large or too heavy to take with you?

It sometimes happens to our customers: you have ordered a beautiful product, such as a large two-handed sword, a complete tent, or a heavy armor, and at the pickup point, the box turns out to be much larger or heavier than expected.

If the package doesn't fit in your car or is too heavy to lift by yourself, fortunately, there are several solutions:

Practical solutions for transport

  • Enlist help: Ask a friend or family member with a larger car (such as a station wagon, SUV, or van) to drive with you to the pickup point.
  • Rent or share a car: For very large shipments, you might consider renting a small van for an hour from a local rental company or using a car-sharing app (such as Greenwheels or MyWheels).
  • Unpack on site: If the outer shipping box is extremely large, you can ask at the parcel shop if you can open the package there. Sometimes the product itself (possibly in the smaller product box) fits in the car, while the large outer box with packing material was the culprit. Note: Take the packaging material with you if the point cannot process it.
  • Dolly or hand truck: Don't have a car but live nearby? Bring a foldable hand truck or a moving dolly (a 'dolly') to easily roll the weight home.

Can the package still be delivered to your home?

Sometimes you can arrange through customer service or the app of the delivery service to have the package sent to your home address, but keep the following in mind:

  • Second delivery attempt: Some delivery services offer the option for a second delivery attempt for a small fee. You can often indicate this in their app.
  • Local courier: You could call a local courier service or "man-with-a-van" to pick up the package at the pickup point and deliver it to your door.

Important warning: The pickup deadline

Don't wait too long to arrange transportation. A pickup point usually holds your package for only 7 days. If it is not picked up within that period, they will return it to Celtic WebMerchant. As mentioned earlier, the costs for this return shipment will be at your own expense.

Tip: Do you have your eye on a really large item? Check the dimensions in the product description on our website, so you won't be surprised at delivery!
