Hoe lang wordt mijn bestelling bewaard voordat ik hem ophaal op het afhaalpunt?
The storage period for your package is limited. How long your product will wait for you depends on the delivery service and location, but generally, you can follow these guidelines:
The standard period
For most delivery services and local pickup points, a package is stored for 7 calendar days. This starts the day after the package is scanned at the parcelshop.
Differences by type of pickup point
- Stores and parcelshops: Here, the period is usually 7 days. Some post offices have a longer period of 14 days, but this is becoming increasingly rare.
- Package lockers: Because space in a locker is limited, the storage period here is often shorter, usually 3 days. After that, the package is either taken to a staffed pickup point nearby or returned directly to us.
What happens if you are late?
Once the storage period has expired, the package is marked as 'not picked up' and is returned directly to Celtic WebMerchant.
This incurs additional costs:
- Return costs: The delivery service charges us for returning the package.
- Reshipping: Do you still want to receive the product? Then you will need to pay the shipping costs again for a second attempt.
Our tips to avoid returns
- Keep an eye on the tracking: The storage period starts as soon as the status changes to 'Ready for pickup'. Do not wait for a paper notice in the mailbox, as they are not always left anymore.
- Check the deadline: The tracking link from the delivery service often specifies exactly until what date and time the package is available for you.
- Ask for help: Are you unavailable or on vacation? Have someone else pick up the package to prevent it from being sent back to the Netherlands.
Note: Do you have an urgent reason why you cannot pick up the package on time? Then contact the pickup point directly. Unfortunately, we cannot extend the storage period from our system.
