Can I change my pickup point after I have placed an order?
Whether you can still change the pickup point depends on how far your order is in the process. Below we explain the two different situations:
1. Before your package is shipped
- Celtic WebMerchant does not send your package directly to a pickup point. You must select the pickup point with the delivery service when the package is shipped.
- If the package has not yet been shipped, Celtic WebMerchant can still adjust the delivery address.
2. After your package is shipped (via the tracking link)
Once the package is on its way, control is with the delivery service. In many cases, you can still make changes yourself:
- Change yourself in the tracking: Open the tracking link you received from the delivery service, or open the carrier's app. With many carriers (such as UPS, DHL, or PostNL), you will see a button with 'Change delivery options'. Here you can often select another nearby pickup point.
- Not at home moment: If the delivery person encounters a closed door, the package is usually taken to a pickup point. Often, at that moment, you can still indicate via the app or website of the delivery service which specific point you prefer for the next day.
Important limitations
- International shipments: For shipments outside the EU (that go through customs), it is often not possible to change the address or pickup point once the package has crossed the border. This is related to the customs documentation linked to a specific address.
- Distance: You can usually only choose another pickup point within the same region or postal code. It is not possible to redirect the package halfway to a completely different city.
Our advice: Always double-check your details during checkout. If you have made a mistake, check the tracking link of the delivery service as soon as you receive it. The sooner you submit a change via the tracking, the greater the chance it will succeed!
