What if damage occurs due to customs inspection?
When your package is opened by customs for inspection, this is an official procedure over which we as the sender unfortunately have no control. If damage occurs during this process, the following guidelines apply:
- Responsibility: Damage directly caused by a customs inspection is outside our liability, as this is an action by a government agency.
- Reporting: We advise you to contact the relevant customs authority or the delivery service that handled the package directly to make an official report of the damage.
- Evidence: Keep the box and all packaging materials, including any tape or documentation applied by customs as proof that the package has been opened.
- Contact us: You can of course always contact us. Although we cannot reimburse damage caused by inspection, we can sometimes advise on the steps to take towards the carrier.
