What is damage and what are normal deviations?
By damage we mean problems with a product that are already present upon receipt or have occurred during transport.
Damage can consist of:
- Production damage: errors that occurred during production and jeopardize the functionality of the product.
- Transport damage: damage that occurred during shipping, such as breaks and dents
Report damage as soon as possible after receiving your order. In these cases, we will provide an appropriate solution, such as replacement, repair, or refund.
What is not considered damage?
At Celtic WebMerchant, we offer historical replicas that are often handcrafted or made in an artisanal manner, unlike fast fashion. It is important to know that certain characteristics are inherent to this type of product. The following points are considered standard deviations by us and therefore do not fall under damage:
Characteristics of steel and metal
Superficial scratches: Small scratches on the steel or polish are common in handmade replicas.
Polishing errors: Slight irregularities in the polish on the steel.
Natural weathering: Weathering of brass or bronze, as well as the presence of rust or slight oxidation (this is part of the maintenance of historical equipment).
Characteristics of leather and natural materials
Leather texture: Scratches or impressions on the leather that are part of the natural nature of the material.
Organic variation: Irregularities in the color or texture of horn and wood.
Belts: Belts that do not yet have holes, or where the holes are not in the desired location for you.
Finish and sizing
Artisanal finish: A finish that looks rougher than industrial factory work, or a seam that is not perfectly straight.
Variations: Products that slightly differ from the photo, or where the color is marginally different.
Sizing: Items where the size is different than expected (for this, we refer to the size charts in the product descriptions).
