No, repair costs are not reimbursed if you have had this done yourself without prior consultation.

When you carry out or have a repair carried out yourself, this has the following consequences for the settlement with Celtic WebMerchant:

• No reimbursement: We do not reimburse costs for repairs carried out by third parties without our explicit and written consent.
• Claim void: By modifying or repairing the product, you change the condition of the item. As a result, we can no longer determine the original damage, and your right to an official damage claim, free replacement, or full refund is void.
• Assessment first: We always determine based on photos of the unmodified situation whether a product will be resent or if a (partial) refund will follow.

Our advice: Have you detected a defect but see a simple solution yourself? Always contact us first. In some cases, we can decide in consultation that a self-performed repair is the best way forward, and we may accommodate you in the price, but never do this before you have received written approval from us.
