May I (have someone) repair the product myself before assessment?

No, you may not repair or modify a damaged product yourself before we have been able to assess the damage.

If you proceed with a repair yourself, this will have the following consequences for the handling at Celtic WebMerchant:

  • Loss of warranty and claim: By repairing the product, you change the condition of the item. As a result, we can no longer determine what the original damage was, and you lose your right to a damage claim, free replacement, or full refund.
  • No reimbursement for repair costs: We do not reimburse costs for repairs carried out by third parties without our explicit and written consent.
  • Assessment based on photos: As previously mentioned, we determine based on photos of the unchanged situation whether a product will be resent or if a (partial) refund will follow.

Our advice: Have you seen a handy solution for a minor defect? Always contact us first. In some cases, we can decide in consultation that a minor repair by you is the best solution, where we may accommodate you in the price, but never do this without our approval.
