Hoe werkt de garantie?

At Celtic WebMerchant, we offer a warranty of two years or more on production damage for a large part of our assortment. To handle a warranty claim smoothly and quickly, it is important that the correct information is provided.

How to submit a warranty claim?

If you notice damage that qualifies for warranty, report the damage to us immediately. Follow these steps:

  • Clear visual material: Send us photos or videos that clearly show the problem or defect.
  • Complete context: Explain the exact context of the problem, such as when you discovered the defect.
  • Usage method: Indicate how the product has been used over time and how it was used when the defect occurred.
  • Identification: Always mention your order number in the report and which product it concerns.

What is covered under the warranty?

The warranty covers damages caused by errors in the production process. Consider:

  • Hairline cracks, metal fatigue, mold errors, or other production errors.
  • Swords: The warranty covers production errors, such as breaks in the blade and errors in the assembly. However, damage to leatherwork, scabbards, crossguards, and pommels is not covered.
  • Armor: Factory damage to armor is covered, but damage from use (such as weapon impact) or wear on rivets and leatherwork is not.

What is not covered under the warranty?

  • Wear and maintenance: Normal wear and defects arising during normal use, such as weathering, rust, burrs, and leather drying out, are not covered.
  • Incorrect use: We cannot offer a warranty for poor maintenance or incorrect use of the product. Example: if you have chopped a tree with a sword, this is considered incorrect use, as a sword is not intended for this. Also, if you strike incorrectly with a sword during fighting, this is not covered by the warranty.
  • Own modifications: The right to warranty is completely void if you repair or modify a product yourself without our written permission.

Once we have received your report with the necessary photos and explanation, we will assess the situation (sometimes in consultation with the manufacturer) to come to an appropriate solution.

Consistency of the report
We check whether the submitted visual material matches the explanation of the usage. If we notice that the photos do not match your description, we may reject the warranty request. For example, if you state that you have only used a sword once, but the blade is completely covered in burrs, this is not credible in the context of a production error.
