Wat should I do if the product doesn't fit?
When you order online from us, it may happen that clothing or shoes do not fit. To resolve this as efficiently as possible, we at Celtic WebMerchant have the following tip:
Order multiple sizes: If you are unsure between two sizes, it is advisable to order both sizes at the same time.
Take advantage of the free shipping threshold: If you live in the EU, by ordering multiple sizes you can often exceed the threshold for free shipping. This way, you do not pay shipping costs for the outbound journey.
Returns: After fitting, return the item that does not fit. This way, you only pay the return costs and avoid having to pay shipping costs again for a second order.
Note: outside the EU, there is no right of return.Consult the size charts: To increase the chance of a fitting size, we recommend consulting the size charts in the product descriptions of the relevant items beforehand.
Although the size charts provide a very good guideline with us, they remain an estimate.
Here are a few reasons why the fit may still differ from what you expect:
Body shape: Every body is unique; the size chart looks at fixed points (such as chest or waist), but does not say everything about how a garment fits, for example, broader shoulders or a specific length.
Personal preference: What the chart indicates as the "right" size may not be your favorite fit. You might prefer to wear your tunic or armor a bit looser for more freedom of movement, or tighter for a streamlined silhouette.
Comfort: Especially in re-enactment and LARP, comfort is essential because you often wear the clothing all day. Sometimes a larger size is just a bit more comfortable when you want to wear undergarments or an extra layer underneath.
Handcraft: Because many of our products (such as those from our EU makers) are handmade or artisanally crafted, there can always be small variations in the final dimensions compared to the standard chart.
That is why it is wise to order two sizes if in doubt. This way, you can try on, compare, and determine at home which size is most comfortable for you, after which you can easily return the other item to us.
