Wat is het verschil tussen damage en warranty?
The difference between damage and warranty at Celtic WebMerchant mainly lies in the cause of the defect and how it is handled.
Damage
Damage occurs when a product is delivered to you in a non-optimal condition or gets damaged by external factors during transport.
- Report: Damage must be reported immediately upon receipt with photos of both the product and the packaging.
- Cause: The cause often lies with the delivery service or a manufacturing defect that was already present at the time of shipment.
- Handling: When your damage report is acknowledged, we will propose an appropriate solution, such as a (partial) refund.
- Exclusions: Cosmetic issues (such as forging marks or light scratches) or natural processes (such as light rust on steel) are not recognized as damage.
Warranty
Warranty relates to the expected lifespan and soundness of a product under normal use.
- Maintenance: You are responsible for the proper maintenance of your product, such as oiling steel and drinking horns and not cleaning wooden cutlery in the dishwasher.
- Use: The right to warranty is void if you repair or modify a product yourself without our written permission.
Main Distinction
The main difference is that damage usually manifests immediately upon delivery (such as a broken part or incorrect product), while warranty looks at the quality of the product over a longer period.
