What should I do if my package has not arrived on the delivery day?

It's frustrating when you're waiting for a package and the delivery service doesn't show up. However, in most cases, you don't need to take immediate action. Often, there is a logistical reason for the delay.

Why hasn't my package been delivered?

There are several reasons why a delivery might be postponed at the last minute:

  • Overloaded route: Especially around holidays or busy periods, a courier might have more packages than can fit into a workday. Your package is then automatically moved to the next day.
  • Logistical issues: It can happen that the delivery service van breaks down on the road or that there is a delay at the sorting center.
  • Lack of time: If the courier has reached the maximum working hours, they must stop the route. The remaining packages are then scheduled first for the next day.

What are the next steps?

  1. Wait for the next working day: In 95% of cases, the package is offered again on the next working day (Monday to Saturday, depending on the service).
  2. Check the tracking link again: The delivery service usually updates the status overnight or early in the morning with a new delivery time.
  3. Check your mailbox or doors: See if the courier might have left a "not at home" note or if the package was delivered to the neighbors without the tracking being immediately updated.

When should I contact someone?

If your package still hasn't been delivered after two working days and the status in the tracking link hasn't changed, first contact the customer service of the delivery service. They can directly instruct the courier. If they can't resolve the issue, we would like to hear from you so we can start an investigation. This takes a bit longer than when you contact the delivery service directly, as our contact goes through an intermediary (transport hub).
