What does the status of my package mean in the tracking email from the delivery service?
Once your package is on its way, the delivery service uses various terms to indicate the exact location of your order. Below is an overview of the most common statuses in a typical tracking:
Key statuses explained
- In transit: This is the most general status. It means your package is in the delivery service's network and is being moved from one location to another (for example, from the central sorting center to a local depot near you).
- Out for delivery: This is the message you are waiting for! It means the courier has loaded your package into the van and is on the way to your address. Usually, your package will be delivered on the same day.
-
Awaiting pickup: This status can mean two things:
- With us: The package is ready at Celtic WebMerchant to be picked up by the delivery service.
- At a pickup point: You were not home or chose a pickup point. You can now collect your package at the specified location. Don't forget your ID!
Overview of other tracking terms
| Term | Meaning |
| Label Created / Info Received | We have printed the shipping label. The delivery service knows a package is coming, but has not yet received it. |
| Arrived at facility / Hub | The package has arrived at a sorting center of the delivery service. |
| Departed from facility | The package has left the sorting center and is on its way to the next stop. |
| Held at Customs | Your package is being checked by customs (for shipments outside the EU). This is a standard procedure that typically takes two weeks. |
| Delivery Exception | Something went wrong, such as an address error, a closed door, or delays due to traffic or vehicle breakdown. Check the tracking for instructions. |
| Delivered | According to the courier, the package has been delivered to the specified address or to the neighbors. |
Tip from us
Does the status of your package seem unchanged for a few days while it shows In transit? Don't worry, often the package is on its way between two major distribution centers and the next scan will follow once it arrives at the new location.
